Demonetization – Rs 500 and Rs 1000 indian notes discontinued – Lets discuss this
As per Indian government from today that is from 08 Nov2016 the Rs 500 old notes has been discontinued and we will be getting Rs 500 new notes. Rs 1000 note will be completely discontinued form the market and new Rs 2000 note will be published from today.
People can change the notes till 31st Dec 2016 from banks and post offices and after that till 31st March 2017 they will have to go to RBI to change the notes. Basically to deposit the old notes.
It’s a remarkable step to control the black money and terrorism which has been picking up in our country due to fake Indian rupee notes coming from sides of Nepl, Bangladesh and other countries due to hawala and other sources.
Please get your old notes deposit asap.
Just for information Banks will be closed tomorrow and ATM machines for next two days to fill the machines with new currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 2000.
For 72 hours below mentioned places will continue to accept old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes for payment.
1. Govt hospitals
3. Bus stations
4. Railway ticket counters
5. Petrol pumps
6. Consumer cooperative stores
8. Crematoria and burial grounds
